Suny Solar Panel Recycling Plant – Solar-panel processing line
The solar-panel processing line recovers valuable material fractions from end-of-life or damaged solar modules: glass, silicon wafer, aluminium frame, copper and silver. Processing is fully integrated, from frame removal through shredding and separation to the final fractions. The glass (~75% by mass) can be returned to glass manufacture or used as a road-construction additive; the silicon wafer can serve as a feedstock. Capacity can be matched to the expected volume of end-of-life installations – an estimated 1 million tonnes of solar panels are projected to reach end of life in Europe by 2030.
Fields of application
Panel take-back obligations of solar operators and installers
Capacity build-out for solar-panel recovery at waste-management firms
Recovery of silicon and precious metals as secondary raw materials
Compliance with the EU WEEE Directive's solar-module provisions
