ECOTECH – Hybrid free-cooling chiller

Hybrid (compressor + integrated free cooler) chiller, 120–1,140 kW. Up to 30–60% annual energy saving with automatic mode switching.

The most economical compressor-based solution

The ECOTECH automatically switches between modes: when the ambient air temperature is low enough, it switches off the compressor and cools the water with the fans alone (free-cooling mode). When the air is too warm, the compressor refrigeration circuit takes over. In transition periods, the two work together.

Operating modes

Winter (free cooling): Ambient temp. < 10 °C — compressor OFF, fans only — COP 15–30
Transition (mixed): 10–20 °C — FC pre-cools + compressor finishes — COP 5–8
Summer (compressor): > 20 °C — compressor primary, FC assists where it can (e.g. at night) — COP 2.5–3.5

Indicative payback

For a 200 kW unit, 4,000 operating hours/year, with electricity at HUF 60/kWh: annual saving ~HUF 8M, payback on the price premium ~6–10 months.
